Website FAQs
Can I view my website as it's being designed?
You can indeed. We have a separate web address for all our clients, which showcases their websites throughout the process and allows for feedback and design alterations whilst the website is being worked on. The website will be placed under an address such as www.clbwebsites.com/YourCompanyName for you to access at any time.
Will I need to meet with you before we work on the website?
Not necessarily. Everything is easily done over the phone or via email, however we can always meet clients in our offices in Suffolk, or travel to meet our clients if they feel this is needed, however most of our work is easily done via the phone or email, as this is usually only to relay some information or design ideas.
Can I work on my own website once it's been complete?
You certainly can, although we offer all our clients free updates, so most people choose this option, as it's usually only an address, a phone number or an updated piece of information which needs changing.
Some of our clients do however require weekly or monthly updates, and this can be done with the design software, and the software we recommend usually costs in the region of £150. We can advise on the purchase of this directly from the software company, and also teach you how to use it, and provide support every step of the way whilst you learn the basics.
Please note, that most people can usually edit their websites after ten minutes worth of teachings, so it really is very simple to use.
Are there any additional costs for the website?
The price covers all the design work, amendments, search engine submission and support.. This also includes any additional technical support, updates or assistance once the website is online.
In brief, what does this price include?
These prices include of the full website, technical support, search engine submission and professional email addresses. We also provide basic updates (such as a change in telephone number or a new piece of text) as this is always expected from time to time. Our clients also purchase the Domain names and Hosting packages separately, as not all our clients require these (for example, those who wish for a re-design), hence they are always kept separate.
The price usually doesn't include us writing any copy or information for the website, as this is usually provided by the client. This also doesn't include any images, as these are also provided (or chosen) by the client.
We are however always here to advise you every step of the way, show examples of text and information and advise you on the things which a website may need.
Can I have official looking email addresses with my website?
You can indeed, and what you choose is completely up to you. Popular ones include info@CompanyName.com, enquiries@CompanyName.com and firstname@CompanyName.com etc.
These are all very easy to set-up and we'll just need a list of the email addresses you require, and please note that you can always add to the list whenever you need to (for example, a new member of the team arrives and they need an email address).
How do I make my website appeal to search engines?
We use something known as "Meta Tags" to help boost your search ratings within Google, Bing and Yahoo! etc. All we ask is for between fifteen and twenty "keywords" which are then coded into the website.
For example, a gardening shop may use the following:
"Gardening services, gardening shop, gardening supplies, plants, seeds, gardening tools" and so forth.
They may also like to include their location of the business if they only supply to a particular area, and use "gardening services London". We can also submit your website to these search engines, which is also included within the price.
Can I view visitor stats and trends?
You can indeed, and we find the most popular option is via Google Analytics. Here you'll be able to see which countries and regions your visitors are coming from, how they got there (i.e. via another link or a direct request) how many pages they visited, which are the most popular pages, how long they were on the website for and many, many other useful things.
This is also very easy (and free) to set-up and will only require you to spend a few moments signing up to a Google Account. Once this is done, we'll then place the 'code' within the website and it'll be up-and-running within 24 hours.
What are the timescales for completion?
We expect most websites to be complete within a month, however this is very flexible and dependent on the client. We always work to your time frames and priorities.
When do I pay for my website?
The initial quote and design work is completely free of charge and you are under no obligation to continue (however we're pleased to announce that we've never had anyone stop here!)
Once the design work has been agreed, we then ask for a 20% deposit, which is around stage two of the project and we only require full payment within 70 days of the agreement (or once the website has been completed, whichever is soonest).
We expect all websites to be complete within 70 days of the initial agreement and ask that clients provide the necessary feedback and information within a timely manner.
Once the website has been completed and full payment has been received, we then place your new website online at the official web address. We also set-up email addresses (if you would like them) and provide you with a physical copy of the website.
