The process of building a website
All websites are built to customers' specifications and can be fully viewed online throughout the process to offer feedback and suggestions along the way...
Stage one - The initial design
Some of our clients know exactly how they wish their website to appear, whereas others request some additional help and advice along the way - either way, both of these options are absolutely fine.
For those who know exactly how they want their website to appear, we ask for some simple layout designs showing where you would like the images, text and the links etc to appear, along with a few more notes about preferred colours and so forth.
For our clients who require some additional advice, we usually find the easiest option is for you to have a browse on the internet and find a few websites which you like the appearance of. This always gives us an excellent idea of the look and feel that you are after, and we can then design your website with a great starting point.
Alternatively, we can always design your website from scratch and allow you to offer feedback throughout the stages.
Once the initial design has been created, the website will then be placed online for you to see via a link such as www.clbwebsites.com/YourCompanyName and any feedback or ideas are then discussed for the next stage.
Stage two - Putting the website together
Once the design work has been agreed, we then require a list of which pages you would like to see on the menu. For example:
Home | About Us | Our Services | Our Team | Events | Vacancies | Contact Us
There are no limits on these; however we find most people require between five and fifteen options. Once this has been decided, we can then create the website with multiple pages and links etc.
Stage three - Adding information
This is the main part of constructing the website, and this is where we usually finalise all the text and images. These are usually chosen and written by the client, and once these have been provided, they are then placed onto the website. Everything is then tweaked if necessary and we have everything looking and functioning like a proper website.
Stage four - The finishing touches
Once the website has been completed, we then purchase the Domain Name (such as www.CompanyName.com) ready for the website to be placed online. We also set-up the official email addresses (if you would like some) for example firstname@CompanyName.com and we can also provide you with a physical copy of the completed website.
